There are two options. Either meet by the RNLI station in the bay, or paint on the clifftop, overlooking the bay.
The bay is usually more sheltered and has access to a café and toilets but has paid parking. The clifftop has free parking and great coastal views but is likely to be windy and the bay and facilities are a short walk away down the hill / steps.
Parking – There is paid parking in the bay (usual Council charges apply) or alternatively, there is free parking in Freshwater Bay Clifftop Car Park, off Military Road.
Coffee – There are a few places in the bay that you can buy coffee, including the Freshwater Gate cafe.
Loos – There are public toilets a short walk away from the seafront.
How to Get There – From Newport take the B3399 Middle Road to Afton. Turn left onto Afton Road and follow it to the seafront. At the end of the road turn right for the paid carpark and the bay. Alternatively, turn right onto the Military Road and you’ll see Freshwater Bay Clifftop Car Park on your left after a little while.
