Meet in the car park
Golden Hill Country Park covers 20 hectares of mixed habitat public open space and it surrounds one of the Palmerston Follies (now flats) that were built to protect the Solent from invasion.
There are countryside views. It’s probably worth going for a walk round the park without your art materials first as there are a number of views / subjects to choose from. The ground may be muddy if it has been raining.
Parking – There is free parking
Coffee – There is no coffee but the park is near Freshwater and Colwell Bay
Loos – There are no public toilets at the park but there are some at Colwell Bay, which is a short drive away.
How to Get There - The site is signed from Hill Lane / Colwell Road. Turn off to Golden Hill Park industrial estate then immediately right, following signs.
